Minutes: Passed
President: Two weeks ago I turned in an incomplete
list to the Student Organizations office, by the end of this meeting I would
like everyone to complete form. Now I
will pass it around the room, each Film Board member must fill in their name
and student number.
Vice President: The sign up sheet is going around
the room and requirements have been updated.
Secretary: If you are going to be absent from a
meeting please contact the secretary and
inform them of your absence.
Treasurer: For “K19 The Widow maker”, we
sold 449 tickets that amounts to $ 898.00 and made $ 299.99 in
Concessions. There is $7,500.00 in the
account.
Equipment Supervisor: The movie “MIB II” is here
and will be shown at 8:00 pm on Wednesday night and probably put together
during the day.
Web page: The web page has been updated. Cool!
Publicity: Poster is up in front of the MUB. Looks good!
Concessions: No report.
Advertising: The cell phone signs went up last
weekend at the show.
Advisors: No report.
Old Business:
No new V.I.P. passes were seen this week, so that
is good. The Vice President went through
the V.I.P. packet and it said nothing about getting into the movie for free
that weekend, so somewhere along the line communication must have broke down,
anyways it sounds like it is a one-year deal.
A motion was made that in the future Film Board should not accept these
V.I.P. passes anytime during the year and especially not on Family weekend or
during the MTU open house, which is when there seems to be a lot of them
floating around. Motion passes, ~ rest
in peace V.I.P. passes.
Time for the fall social is approaching and it is
usually held at the “Library Bar and Grill”, but if anyone has any suggestions
it is open to the floor, here we go!
Lots of suggestions on where to eat were calmly discussed, such
restaurants as “The Loading Zone II”, “AmerEuroAsia” and the “Ming Buffet” were
among the fine suggestions from various Film Board members. Last year about $10.00 was allocated to each
member that had to be spent on food, if you are 21 or over any liquor purchased
must be done so with your own money. A
motion was made to go to the new “Ming Buffet” located in the Sharon Center
behind Blockbuster video for the Film board fall social. Motion passes with 18 for, 7 opposed, and 3
abstentions. Another motion was then
made to have this social on Tuesday December 3rd right after the
Film Board meeting, that is the first week back after Thanksgiving break, and
that the secretary will send an email to the list on Monday and then again on
Tuesday reminding the members about this event.
Motion has been tabled until next week I believe. It was also recommended that someone call the
“Ming Buffet” and see if they can seat all 38 members, if of course all attend?
Cotton candy is not free unless there are bags left
after the late Saturday night show that would otherwise go to waste. The only editable thing that is free is the
one bag of popcorn that each member is allowed to have once per weekend.
Blue Key would like Film
Board to donate some money for Winter Carnival; in the past Film Board usually
donates about $250.00 unless Film Board is really strapped for cash, like last
year. After consulting the treasurer and
learning that at the end of last year Film Board had 5,500 in the account, a
motion was made to give Blue Key some money.
Motion passes with 2 abstentions; (I will not allocate money to another
organization that sends a collector who demands Film Board give them
money. When you want something, you
simply say the magic word, please.)
