Excused Absences: Ryan Antkowiak, Luke Hasemeier,
Pedro L. Lemmertz, Stephanie Marolt, Brian Mooren, Greg Mooren, Craig
Morehouse, Eric E. Seguin, David J. Subert, and Lisa Welling
21 members present
Minutes: Passed
President: Nothing really to report except that
Film Board is getting confirmations about the movies that were ordered; K-19
was just confirmed so Film Board is looking good.
Vice President: Not present but the sign up sheet
is going around the room.
Secretary: I added the new members to the email
account and also sent out an updated a fall Film Board membership list to the
list.
Treasurer: For the Fastlane Preview we sold
$26.50 in Concessions
For Undercover Brother, we sold 291 tickets and made $183.75 in Concessions.
There is currently about $3,300.00 available in the account, OOOOOhhhhh.
Equipment Supervisor: The movie “Insomnia” will be
put together on Wednesday night around 7:00pm and then shown around 8:00pm
unless Brian states otherwise at the Tuesday meeting or in an email Wednesday
afternoon or evening. Brian has a
conflict so another projectionist will be showing the movie, same time same
place.
The shipping on “Insomnia” will cost a lot of money
since Warner Brothers shipped it early, with shipping costs amounting to $80.00
or so. We need to make a list of any
Warner Brothers movies that Film Board will be ordering in the future to avoid
such costs.
Web page: The web page has been updated and some
pop ups have been added.
Publicity: Not present
Concessions: No report
Advertising: The slides were put to the test last
weekend and while some of them look good, others do not. Advertising will be going through the slides
and deciding which ones to keep and which ones to remove; problems arose do to
problems with contrasting backgrounds and some other errors, etc. If anyone sees any problems with the slides
please refer them to advertising for correction or comment, they would be
greatly appreciated.
Advisors: Not present
Old Business: It appears that WMTU is going to
partake in a joint advertising venture with Film Board; good relations are
always good to find. As described in the
minutes last week Film Board will show a WMTU slide they design and in return
WMTU will broadcast what movie Film Board is showing on a weekly basis.
New Business: Very
Important: Advertising for the movie “Red Dragon” was passed out at the meeting
tonight, so if you were not at the meeting there is a lot of publicity in the
office that can be picked up this weekend.
If you come in to work a show or just want to stop by, feel free to take
some posters and put them up around campus.
There are a lot of regular size fliers that can be hung up, some bigger
ones that can go up in the popular spots, and then there are some marquee
posters too. There will also be a sign
up sheet for “Red Dragon” next week if anyone wants to work that show and or sell
concessions.
Next Wednesday the regular preview may take place
after the “Red Dragon” showing in which the “Borne Identity” will be the double
feature for Film Board members only.
NIGHT has contacted Bryan about doing some sort of
murder mystery dinner and a movie thing in conjunction with Film Board. In the discussion it was mentioned that
perhaps the hall across from Fisher 135 could be used and a 16mm movie could be
shown but that would mean getting speakers from SLS, plus spending Film Boards
time, money, and resources. If NIGHT
want to pay the bill for SLS, the movie, and projectionist fees, they are
almost better off showing it on there own over in UN115.
Meeting Adjourned: I wasn’t watching the clock, I
was eating pizza, meeting ended sometime in the P.M.
Dutifully Submitted,
Daniel J. Weir

nice weather for the weekend.
